FIRST PRIZE Best Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Italy (again!)

The 2024 vintage is one of the best vintages for our extra virgin olive oil production: this has been confirmed once again by the competition Leone d’Oro, which awarded Plenum first prize for Best Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil!

This is one of the most selective international olive oil competitions in the world. ‘We fight alongside you to protect biodiversity. We strive to offer you valuable assistance in improving quality and promoting its value,’ writes Maria Paola Gabusi, organizer and Panel leader.
The Leone d’Oro has a big goal that reaches everyone, organising really interesting tasting courses for anyone curious about olive oil!

While receiving an award is always a great achievement, for Poggiopiano, receiving an award for Best Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a double achievement! Blending is one of the cornerstones of our production, in the belief that a skilfully crafted blend of different olives’ varieties can achieve a level of complexity, harmony and balance that would otherwise not be found in an extra virgin olive oil.

‘Making olive oil’ at Poggiopiano is not just a productive activity, but one that follows precise guidelines dictated by our culture and tradition, our passion for good food and our interest in healthy eating.
